Patience and performing

Someone wise once said that "patience is a virtue." Well, unfortunately this is not a trait that I inherited from my lovely mother and father. I have found that I repeatedly promise my fiance that I will work on being a more patient person. I am not quite sure, but I think having a mother with a mild case of OCD has greatly contributed to my being overly conscious of time. Of course I fall in love with a man of my opposite! Does anyone have suggestions about how to be more patient. I've found, honestly that acknowledging that I am nervous and anxious about being late for any particular event, taking a deep breath and transferring my attention to another activity helps calm me. Tonight is my debut in Chasing Friday, the band that I have joined, and I'm almost positive that my anxiety and frustration is due to nervousness. After a glass of wine and some food in my belly, I'm sure the adrenaline I get when I perform will kick in. I just can't wait to be on stage again. All eyes on me, hopefully enjoying my interpretation and expression of music. Such a good feeling. Only someone who loves performing understands what an amazing feeling that is. Okay, my head has been cleared and have transformed from stressed to excited. About to head out the door.

Wish me luck!

Making the band

So, I was recently approached by some of my fiancé's friends, who are in a band, in regards to me singing a couple of ditties with them on a few songs. Well I had the opportunity to sit in on a practice and my creative juices started immediately overflowing the church we practiced at. I started writing along their lead vocalist and somehow my back up in a few songs turned into me being actually being in the band. I am ecstatic! I have recently been trying to find something to satisfy my craving for belonging somewhere. In highschool and college I had softball and choir and was overwhelmed with school work. Well unfortunately, the real world has created some challenges for me, time being number one. Working two jobs and still maintaining my full-time student status has been difficult, but honestly, leaving band practice sets me into a place that I haven't been in a long time. I am truly happy and blessed to have a supportive fiancé who holds my hand throughout all of my endeavors and my chaotic yet intensely organized life. This is my version of making the band.... And guess what? I did!

Welcome to the world of blogging

So. . . This is my first attempt at a 'blog.' I haven't much experience but felt that this could be a fun way for me to express myself and my life to anyone/everyone who is interested. I find myself lured in by other's blogs and experiences. Many of those whom I have lost close contact with throughout the years. So, I have decided to create my own blog and hope that others gain as much from mine as I do, others.
